We of course had to visit the Henry Ford museum since we were in Detroit. It was pretty amazing.

Ann Arbor
We spent a few hours in Ann Arbor. It was so great! There
was so much energy in the air! I'm sure it has something to do with all the
young people there…. University of Michigan was right downtown. I walked around in the small downtown area. It is such a great city, cold but great!

Lucien Moore House
Lucien Moore House was built in 1885 in the French
Renaissance Revival, Gothic Revival architecture style by a lumber tycoon. This handsome
7000sqft home was renovated in 2005 by HGTV's restore America Initiative in
partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It is now called the Moorie Town home.
Historic Homes in Ruin
Detroit had so many beautiful homes that were in ruins. These pictures were taken in Brush Park District right in midtown Detroit.
Helen Newberry Nurses School
We got lost as we were driving around the and pulled into Detroit Grace hopital parking lot. I noticed across the street was this beautiful old building that was named The Helen Newberry Nurses School. So I took a couple pictures and looked it up. What an amazing surprise!

Detroit
In January we went to Detroit. I was not particularly excited to go. We have
all heard about Detroit's crime and poverty so, knowing this I was a little
apprehensive. Detroit is so tragically
beautiful. You can look around and
imagine how amazing it was during it's heyday. We spent a lot of time driving
around the city. In the end, I had a
fantastic time. The city is rich in
history.
The weather was overcast and very cold the whole time we
were there. Since we are not California
whiner babies, it did not bother us that much. The cold is a lot different than
Colorado; it has more humidity in the air so it feels a lot colder. It's that cold that goes right through you,
with daggers! On a couple of the days it
was 1 degree with wind chill it went down to -15 degrees! My Mom would have just cried!
